Hmm.. okay. My sample of the brigitta cap didn’t go that well. It was to small, and i couldn’t seem to tie it the right way. Thank god I didn’t you the expensive fabric!
Oh yeah! I also got my fabric. The wool is not what I imagine, but I can use it for a cape instead.
I will make this cap/bonnet as the piece I will pin the headscarf to.
There is an Danish article here
I just bought the fabric I will use for my Nun Project. I have decided to be a Novice – this means I’m going through the admission process to be a Nun. Thought it would fit better with my age. Most nuns went through a years long Novice training. So will be wearing a white Vail.
I can’t wait to show you guys the fabric!
I just stumbled over a pattern in my book “Nordbomønstre” (the English title is “Medieval Garment Reconstructed – Norse Clothing Patterns”). I think I will use it as the main dress. I like the idea about the pockets allot. There will also be allot of room to alterations, if needed. I will scan the pages with patterns later. You can fine more information about the book under “Books”.
Here is a raw pattern for the chemise i’m going to make. The fabric will be made from Nittle and bought at Historicum, a danish webshop.
The colour will be natural or off-white.
A little more about the nun Hildegard. Here is the trailer to the Film “Vision” which tells the story about her and her extraordinary life.
